A Tufte theme for smalldocs
Type, measure and rules after Tufte CSS
This site shows the theme. The text is set in ET Book, a face cut for Edward Tufte’s books, on a paper that is not quite white. The column is narrow, so a line holds about seventy letters and the eye finds the start of the next one. A link is the colour of the text, with a thin rule under it.
The theme takes little away from the page and adds less. The navbar has the colour of the paper. The sidebar and the table of contents are small and grey, and the current page is in italic. Switch to the dark mode with the button in the navbar: the paper turns to near black, as in Tufte CSS.
Use it
Add the theme to a smalldocs project, and name it in _smalldocs.yml:
smalldocs add rahuldave/smalldocs-tuftetheme: tufteThe guide has the details, and the notes show a listing of posts.
